Official paper pattern

IBPS · CRP CSA-XVI 2026 notification, sections D–F · Source year 2026 · Document date 2026-08-01 · Last reviewed 2026-09-28

Preliminary examination · CRP CSA-XVI

Three separately timed online objective tests. Each test has its own qualifying cut-off set by IBPS.

Section	Questions	Marks	Minutes	Paper language
English Language	30	30	20	English
Numerical Ability	35	35	20	State/UT-selected test language
Reasoning Ability	35	35	20	State/UT-selected test language
Total	100	100	60	—

Main examination · CRP CSA-XVI

Four separately timed tests. Main-exam section and total cut-offs are set after the exam, based on state/UT vacancies; only main marks count for final merit.

Section	Questions	Marks	Minutes	Paper language
General / Financial Awareness	40	50	20	State/UT-selected test language
General English	40	40	35	English
Reasoning Ability	40	60	35	State/UT-selected test language
Quantitative Aptitude	40	50	35	State/UT-selected test language
Total	160	200	125	—

Key rules and selection stages

Each wrong answer deducts one fourth of that question's assigned marks; blanks have no penalty. The paper's language options depend on the State/UT applied for, and English tests remain in English.
The notification does not publish a numeric 2026 cut-off in advance. Preliminary section thresholds and main section/total thresholds are decided by IBPS; main allotment is State/UT vacancy based.

How IBPS CSA cut-offs are decided

IBPS · CRP CSA-XVI notification, sections D–F · Exam cycle 2026 · Source published 2026-08-01

IBPS will decide a separate qualifying cut-off for each of the three preliminary tests. In the main exam, candidates must reach a minimum in each test and in total; State/UT vacancy counts affect provisional-allotment cut-offs. The 2026 notification does not give numerical category or state cut-offs in advance. Main-exam marks alone count for final merit.
