Mapped the UG skill descriptions and the PG law fields from the Consortium's 2026 pages. PG source: https://clat2026.consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2026/pg-syllabus.html . The authority publishes skills and law subjects rather than a fixed chapter or question-by-topic list. These paraphrased headings do not replace either source page. CLAT 2027 is a separate cycle under review.

Official paper pattern

Consortium of NLUs · CLAT 2026 UG and PG question formats · Source year 2026 · Last reviewed 2026-09-26

UG · five subject areas

The Consortium publishes approximate ranges, not exact counts, for the five areas: English 22–26; Current Affairs/GK 28–32; Legal Reasoning 28–32; Logical Reasoning 22–26; Quantitative Techniques 10–14. The 120 questions share one 120-minute sitting.

Section	Questions	Marks	Minutes	Paper language
All five UG areas combined	120	120	—	Not specified on linked page
Total	120	120	120	—

PG · law subjects

A separate PG paper covering Constitutional Law and other undergraduate law subjects. The Consortium does not publish a fixed subject-by-subject question split.

Section	Questions	Marks	Minutes	Paper language
Law subjects combined	120	120	—	Not specified on linked page
Total	120	120	120	—

Key rules and selection stages

Both UG and PG have 120 one-mark MCQs in 2 hours; each wrong answer deducts 0.25 mark. UG and PG are separate papers, not stages of one test.
The 2026 examination was held offline. Do not reuse this 2026 structure as a confirmed CLAT 2027 pattern; the Consortium is reviewing future reforms.
